Five Things - Shangri-La

~ live music + popcorn + champagne = bliss ~

Happy new year! I hope you said goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 in style! I always find the week between Christmas and the new year the biggest blur. I don’t know what day it is, where I’m supposed to be, or what I’m supposed to be doing. It’s almost blissful not having a schedule. Read More…

Happy day-after Thanksgiving! I hope your day was filled with feasting, family, friends, and fun! I am officially in the last week of my 30s. I turn 40 next week, and I have some mixed feelings about it. A decade ago I absolutely panicked at the thought of turning 30. I’d like to think I’ve learned a few things over the past 10 years, and while I’m not exactly welcoming the milestone with open arms, I’m less frantic than I was back then. After all, every birthday is a gift, but in the real world, some are harder than others.

I can honestly say that I changed the most in my 30s. I think moving to a new country, and all of the experiences that came with it, fundamentally changed my life. I knew I didn’t have everything figured out, but I thought I was pretty darn close. I was wrong. I knew nothing. I likely still don’t know much, but I know more than I did!
