My husband, daughter (aged 6), son (aged 14 months), parents, sister-in-law, her fiancé, his two kids (aged 5 and 8), and I just spent 10 days at the most magical place on earth! We went to Disney World and visited Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center, Magic Kingdom, and Disney Springs. It was quite the holiday!
Since my husband and I went a few years ago with Gwyneth, I was the planner in the group. And for such a big group, it was important that we had all our reservations, Magic Hours, and FastPasses arranged well before the trip. So I went to work and created one crazy itinerary.
I wasn’t impressed with Hollywood Studios the first time we went three years ago, but now they have a Frozen Sing-a-long Show and a whole Star Wars section that has made it a great place for kids.
Look at our little Jedi in training.
Meeting a few of the cast.
Of course my favorite ride was the Aerosmith Rock n’ Roller Coaster. We opted for the single rider line so we could get on the ride faster. Check out (1) my face!!! and (2) the guy I’m sitting next to! Ya think he knew where the camera was?
I love Animal Kingdom. It’s a smaller park with lots of shade and even more to do. We saw the Lion King Show (a must!) and rode the safari, the new dinosaur ride, the rapids (super fun), and the Mt. Everest roller coaster. Yes, that’s me screaming my head off again on another coaster and then sitting front row on the dinosaur ride=)
I don’t think the kids were as impressed with Epcot as the other parks, but the test track ride and the fireworks were worth the visit.
Dinner in Mexico at the San Angel Inn was fantastic, and the fact that there were alcoholic beverage carts within each country was pure genius.
The Magic Kingdom is the crème de la crème of theme parks. We spent two days here and got to see and do almost everything.
The girls loved getting dressed up for a lunch with the princesses.
Meeting her favorite princesses.
Gwyneth was brave and rode lots of rides. My favorite picture of her from the trip, on the right with my dad.
And the parents had a fabulous adult-only night out riding all the coasters (we’re the first three rows). It was amazing!
We were all sad to leave, but it was good to get back. I’m still recuperating!
We asked Gwyneth her favorite things and she liked: Jedi Training, the rapids, the seven dwarfs coaster, and meeting all the princesses.
Have you been to Disney? What’s your favorite ride?
