One of the best things about heading back to the states each summer for several weeks is that I get to try a ton of new products and pull together a fabulous things I’m loving list! I scour Amazon Prime for weeks before I arrive, checking out the latest and greatest, and if it doesn’t have incredibly positive reviews then I’m not interested. As soon as I arrive, I also head to BuyBuy Baby, REI and the Container Store, to name a few, and I walk aisle after aisle looking, gawking, and drooling over the best new products and inventions. It’s every product-queen’s fantasy!
Today I leave for Hong Kong – whoop whoop! While I’m dreading the ridiculously long travel to get there (it takes two days!), I’m incredibly excited to explore the city, celebrate my birthday in style, and take a day to visit Macau. I’ve spent the past week packing and re-packing and I think I’ve narrowed down my wardrobe to the essentials…plus a bit more. I’m not a light packer, so the struggle is real.
With so much travel recently, I’ve realized that I tend to pack the same items over and over again. These are the things I’m loving right now that help me get through the long flights and hotel nights. Read More…
Yesterday I started my 10th week of marathon training, and it’s been going okay. It hasn’t been my best go around, but I suppose I shouldn’t really complain. Jackson has been sleeping incredibly well and considering how busy it has been lately, I’d say I’m super close to exactly where I should be with my training.
I can tell I’m a little weak though, because I did 50 air squats this weekend and am still a little sore. Craziness! So in the coming weeks I’m going to add a little more strength work to help build my core and legs. That way by mid-October when I begin to taper, I’m hoping to feel super confident about the race. I have a girlfriend who’s expecting on the same day of the race, and she and I joke on who’s going to be in more pain that day=) What do you think? Read More…
Prior to my move to the Caribbean, I worked in a standard office building and never really had a need for a home office. Now that I’m officially working on the blog every day, I find myself yearning for a nicer place to work other than on my couch, or the spare guest room with makeshift office furniture.
With limited shopping opportunities available on the island, all I can do right now is swoon over the amazing home office spaces on Pinterest. I’m dreaming of the day when I have access to a myriad of beautiful items to create an inviting and creative space! Until then, here are the items I’m loving for my future office. A few I already own, and the rest are officially on my wish-list!
On the day Jackson was born, it was the coldest DC had been on that date in 120 years. Not even a day old and he’s already breaking records;)
I know I sounded like a wimp on Friday when I complained about the cold [insert Canadian-born-and-raised-who-would-say-5-degrees-is-sweater-weather, Ree, laughing at me now]. So to help me warm-up I’m doing a things I’m loving post on the things that I adore for Spring and a few I can’t wait to try this month. And with all the stores now shifting from winter to spring, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
1. easter thank-yous: Sadly, Gwyneth has at times been a little bored without school and her friends to play with. Thankfully though, two adorable little girls live next to my parents. She’s become friends with them quickly and they’ve saved her from a few lonely afternoons. They made her mini cupcakes, she’s had several playdates with them, and as a thank you we’ll be making them these super cute treats next weekend. Rice Krispie treats made with Peeps! Read More…
This is not a sponsored post. These are just items that I’m truly crushing on.
I’m aware of how ironic it is that a girl who lives in the Caribbean is writing anything with the title “winter edition”. One would think that I’m completely out of touch with all things cold and wintery, but it’s actually quite the opposite. Living in a hot and humid climate, I’m no longer accustomed to the dry, cold air and my system is always shocked whenever I land in North America.
I’m constantly looking for new items that will keep me warm and fuzzy while I visit my friends and family. Here are a few of the items I’m loving right now.
Today’s things I’m loving is actually sites I love. Since I spend a ridiculous amount of time online – blogging, googling, shopping, and travel planning – I thought I’d share with all my friends my favorite websites this week.
